Hi Sandra! I hope life is treating you well. I bet that Louis Bardo Bullock, your adopted son is giving you another reason to smile each and every day. I'm sure you hear it frequently that children grow up quickly...well they do, so continue to enjoy making memorable memories.
My all time favorite movie of yours is Crash. I have watched that movie more times than I can remember. Your character Jean Cabot was outstanding, so realistic! Brendan Frasier could have been a more understanding husband but he was a busy district attorney tending to his job. My next favorite movie is While You Were Sleeping, girl you can really make Sunshine get rainy! You cry, I cry. It's an ongoing process whenever I'm watching one of your movies. Demi Moore was first choice for the role of Lucy, I'm so glad you got the part!!! In 28 Days you made being in rehab look kind of cool but I'll pass on doing a stint.
Now I'd like to talk about real men and an Oscar WIN! How was it acting with Tim McGraw in The Blind Side? I've been a fan of his for over 15 years and if Tim is starring in a movie, it's guaranteed that I'll be a fan of the flick. You earned that Oscar portraying Leigh Anne Tuohy! You taught many of us a lesson or two about doing the right thing and standing up for what we believe in. Kudos to you! How about co-starring with Benjamin Bratt in Miss Congeniality? You were hilarious! You morphed beautifully from a FBI Agent into a beauty pageant contestant.
I have to tell you the movie Premonition really irks me. It was a dramatic drama but the ending just still makes me irate even after watching it a few times. I still think you could have given your hubby a heads up about what was to come. Just saying.
I had the pleasure of first seeing you in Speed, it's from this movie that you became a superstar! I agree with you Speed 2 never should have been created. Even though you didn't want to participate in that movie bomb, you got a good deal with FOX promising to endorse Hope Floats which is my third favorite movie. Birdee was an amazing mom and daughter. Was it fun having Harry Connick, Jr as a co-star? I know that's a silly question but I had to ask. You and Harry made an adorable couple! I understand how being in the movie Two If By Sea that featured horses was difficult for you to star in since you are highly allergic to horses. But yet again you didn't disappoint and you were outstanding portraying Roz!
You are such a loving person yet you seem to find love in all the wrong places. I'm sorry about your marriage to "you know who." I don't care to use his name but some readers might be curious so his name is Jesse James. Okay enough about him. When I heard you were going to marry him, I considered phoning you to say NO, STOP RIGHT THERE don't do it! He was just so wrong for you. We live and learn. My heart was sad for you, but I knew you would bounce back with your head held high...and you did just that.
Word is that you know the flamenco, salsa and tango dances! You sound like a perfect celebrity for Dancing With The Stars! Bruno, Carrie and Len would love you! I would match you up with Derek Hough! You would definitely take home the mirror ball! Since you were a cheerleader in high school and homecoming princess in college you would fit right in! You could use your piano playing talents to entertain the viewers as a bonus!
I'm sure you have emotional scars of being bullied in school for wearing frumpy clothes made in Germany, I bet those bullies are regretting that now and that you are loving every minute of your fame and fortune! Since you are fluent in German did you cuss them out in your native tongue? I sure hope so!
Regarding your trademark scar on your forehead that you got from falling in a lake and hitting your head on a rock...I'm sure your family is thrilled that's all you got! Or when your sister broke your nose when you were both playing with the garage door, you've really had some bruises yet you are still gorgeous! Dare I mention the charter plane crash you survived back in 2000. All four passengers survived but the plane didn't. Oh well, planes can be replaced. How about when you were in the car accident with "you know who" and walked away without a scratch? I suggest adding Superwoman after your title of America's Sweetheart because you have earned both titles.
I would like to take one more moment of your time and express my appreciation for all the hard work and dedication you give your fans. Not only are you aging like a fine wine your gift of acting ability continues to impress me and flourish year after year. I wish you many more years of being America's Sweetheart Superwoman and I'll be there...maybe not front row and center seat but I'll be there, cheering you on! Bring it S.A.B.!

Awww Sunshine I LOVE Sandra Bullock - even though she has zillions of fans - I think she's still under - rated! You know what I love about your letters to the stars we love? You remind us that they are human - just like us at the end of the day. The way you included the part about how you hoped she cursed the bully's in German? If she happens to see this - I bet she would laugh and feel great knowing how well she is thought of as a human and an actress:)

I loved everything she has ever played in, because she is the best. I have all my videos and DVD's of her movies, and ever so often I have a Sandra Weekend and watch one after the other. She make me laugh. I do hope she is happy now with her baby. She deserves the best that life has to offer.

There's just something about Sandra Bullock. We watch "While You Were Sleeping" each Christmas, because, just like her character in that movie, we honeymooned in Florence, Italy.

Sandra Bullock is the one movie star that I would love to be! She has style, compassion, and more...she seems to be a normal person who has made some extraordinary strides in her life.
Loved this hub, I love Sandra Bullock movies. My favourites are Miss Congeniality and The Blind Side. She's so genuine as a person (quite rare for some movie stars) and this shines through. I heard recently that she has already given over $1,000,000 to charities (a lot of it to New York charities after 9/11 and your letter to her was a lovely way to tell her how much you liked her. Hi, Sunshine, I, too, am a Sandra Bullock fan so I loved this outstanding paean to her beauty, intelligence, empathy, talent and sense of humor. And dancing ability. That dancing video was great and the trailer for "Blind Side" made me want to see that film again
I remember seeing Sandra in what may have been her first film. I do not remember the title but she co-starred with Sly Stallone and they were both police in a future society. Did you see that one? Thanks for a great read; enjoyed every moment.

I can't help but wonder if her marrying "you-know-who" was more about her attempt to counter the "good-girl" image than actual love. If so, I'm sure the bullying she endured in school and her not being part of the in-crowd played a part in her marrying him---her way of proving that she is "cool" after all.
But, I don't consider guys like Jesse James to be "cool" anyway. And just because he's a redneck, covered in tats and wears a Van Dyke doesn't necessarily make him a "bad boy." I encounter posers like him all the time. His "bad-boy" image is mostly a media fabrication from his lame reality show.
I'm just glad that Sandra left him and it's a sign that she's moved-on from her unfortunate childhood experiences in school and the self-image crisis it imposed on her.

The first time I saw Sandra (I believe it was her first, or one of her first acting jobs)was in the Six Million Dollar Man reunion movie, "Bionic Showdown". You can find it on youtube if you've never seen it. Nothing beats a bionic Sandra Bullock.

I have always loved Ms. Bullock. I recall many Christmas Eves staying up into the night watching "While You Were Sleeping". My favorite Bullock movie. I also love "Practical Magic". My best buds from college would all listen to the soundtrack to this movie while driving across the country. Oh, the memories. :)
Speed and The Lake House are my favorites. I hope she and her child are very happy.

I almost didn't read this... I have been competing with Sandra Bullock for years. Yes, she is number one on my husband's top 5 list... well, I am sure you have heard of those types of list. I can't help myself though because I love her, too. She is funny, sincere, genuine, and picky when choosing the roles she will take. I wish she had been pickier in her choice of husband, but really, who can resist a BAD BOY!! I get it. So, Sandra, I know you are reading this, it's okay, but dontcha be messing with my husband.

Sandra was a bit of a wilde chile at East Carolina University so they say. The school is know for partying so that's no surprise. She made famous though and I'm glad for her. Andie MacDowall from Gaffney, S.C. was a studious student at Winthrop College and is a very nice lady to boot as I'm sure Sandra is. Andie's got a new series coming soon too.

I am a Bullock fan, so I enjoyed this hub. It's so easy to say that person she was married to wasn't right for her when we weren't in the soul of that relationship. I do remember after the televised award ceremony with Bullock on stage and she's giving kudos to her ex-husband, and then hearing the news the next day, I was ticked off! Then, I said to myself (as though Sandra and I are best friends), HE WASN'T RIGHT FOR YOU!! Maybe that's why it took so long for her to share with a viewing audience years back who she was dating. Okay, there we are then. Liked the dance video. Thanks for being a fan.
