Country Music Drinking Songs

Toby Keith - Red Solo Cup

One thing country music doesn't need is One More Drinking Song! Yet there will be more. Many more. Drinking and country music go hand in hand. I'm referred to as lightweight. That means I won't be going Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo. In other words, if you Put A Drink In My Hand chances are I can't finish it. The More I Drink, what will most likely happen is I'll get All Jacked Up!

I have Friends In Low Places and also friends in high places. We all have our place in this world. It's 5:00 Somewhere and fans of country music like to Pop A Top, kick back and relax. That's all good y'all. No need to get Rough & Ready unless need be! I say we all just put on our Party Crown. We could enjoy some Domestic, Light & Cold from the tap, bottle, can, keg or in a Red Solo Cup!

I could be Pretty Good At Drinking Beer, but not if I'm at a pub and I notice the Bartender's Blues! What a downer that would be! Bartender's are supposed to be supportive and have a friendly ear! Next time I'll have my Beer In Mexico!

Don't Tell Mama, but I planned a party and All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight! There will be lots of food and Alcohol! There's a good possibility that someone will want to Save a Horse and Ride a Cowboy!

One never knows what to expect at a country music themed party. There will be Toes in the pool and asses in the sand! I heard a rumor some coy cowboy might make an appearance, but he's trouble so it's Goodbye Earl to him! We might actually enjoy some bubbly! Yes, even country folk enjoy Drinking Champagne, even if it's straight from the bottle.

This will be My Kinda Party! If by chance the weather forecast changes and the sky opens up, it'll be fine because Rain Is A Good Thing! We could add wet t-shirt contests for the cowboys to the list of party events. Hopefully we could also view a Tequila Sunrise! What we don't need is White Lighthing! The way these country folk Chug-a-Lug chances are they will be crying a Whiskey River due to being scared!

I'm sure the women will be telling their cowboys...Don't Come Home a Drinkin' with Loving On Your Mind! Good luck with that my friend! I bet he says, I Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink. Uh oh, cowboy! "Hey Bartender, fill him up!" Have fun y'all!

Very creative hub! I have a favorite song by Jimmy Buffett that relates to drinking but I don't dare put the name of the song title in the comment section :) If you like I'll send you a private message with the title.

Between Country and Hip-Hop, the music business has kept the alcohol business booming. I only recognize a couple of these songs but I guess part of the allure of Country is keeping it real and to alot of people, drinking is keeping it real. But I still think you can have a good time sober! Great hub!

Great hub! I like it is 5:00 Somewhere and I am a BIG Zac Brown fan. Really good suggestions for those looking to get tanked. Here is a joke for you. What do you get when you play a country song back wards? Your wife returns with all your stuff and your dog comes home.. Tee hee!

Sunshine....You are positively the MASTER (I don't want to call you a Mistress!) at these great hubs that include all the pertinent words and phrases. You put them together so smoothly...not to mention very humorously....I like this one A LOT, GF!!!!

Susan, I know EXACTLY which Jimmy Buffett song you're referring to. I had the "live" version (with the hoots and whistles of the audience in the background) on a double LP (if you're old enough to know what LPs were). Had an uptight, overly-religious neighbor who was the pianist for her holy-rollers church and had her own piano up against our common wall. Knew how to use the foot pedals to increase the "bass" effect, too. Would practice EVERY MORNING at the butt crack of dawn, but I never complained. Well, not in words.

On warm Saturday afternoons, I'd open up all the windows, put THAT Jimmy Buffett song on the stereo, crank up the volume to just this side of blowing the speakers, then count to 30, at which point she'd come running out of her apartment trying to cover the ears of her two pre-schoolers as they ran far, far away.

Yes, it WAS very mean of me, but waking up to "Amazing Grace" or "The Old Rugged Cross" booming through the wall was NOT a pleasant way to start a day, either. At least I was only purposely offensive once a week (and only in the warm months), and not until she was fully awake... ;D

A nice combination of drinking and country songs....lol. It seems like there are many country songs about drinking..thanks for posting many of them. I think my favorites would be Friends in Low Places and Red Solo Cup. Voted up...and continued success in your 30 day challenge.

Love It! Love It! Love It! This Hub should be posted right above the Jukebox in every Bar in the country.

With it, there will be no more standing there and trying to remember the name of "that old song" you used to love after your third beer.

Just check the list and scroll through the selections and then push your buttons for that memory refresh!

What a Hub, as Ruchira says above, for a Monday morning to make me smile.

Voted UP and Awesome! You made my day!

Thanks!

I wonder if these could be memorized to add fun at a party. But then, if you've been drinking, just humming the tune would be fun enough. Voting this Up and Interesting.

alocsin, your suggestion opens up a whole new version of drinking games - i.e. name ALL the drinking songs - AND karaoke nights at the local pub. lol!

LOL--after I posted that, I went looking to see if there WAS such a song...and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhfuG9PpWrc

I don't think it's country, though, and I didn't actually care much for the song..at least not the delivery..they aren't very good on stage...

You do know your country music drinking songs, Sunshine. I used to like listening to one that never got much play. Perhaps you heard of it: "My wife ran away with my best friend . . . and I miss HIM!"

Great hub, very innovative. You're being very generous, however, by saying there are merely "over 100 drinking songs." I'm pretty sure George Jones has recorded at least 200 drinking songs. Cheers! (Pardon the pun.)

Hi Thelma! Y'all be sure and come back for Part 2! :)

KF, more than 200?! Wow, George Jones could drink me under the table!! Lol

Thanks for your comments:)
