I feel the need to give Monday a shout-out. Monday is the most detested day of the week. I sympathize for the day. From Sunday evening until Tuesday morning Monday gets verbally abused. If we seriously consider it, do you think Monday REALLY wants to be Monday?
I bet it would prefer to be any other day, but it's stuck. It can't change it's name. But I bet it would, if it could. It'll always be Monday. Dreaded Monday. I sympathize for Monday.
A fair majority of us anticipate the upcoming weekends. Relaxing, family time, no work and then comes Monday. Ugh. Maybe if the weekend went from Saturday and ended on Monday it would be better BUT then we would detest Tuesday. I would then be dedicating this article to Tuesday, but I'm not. It's all about Monday.
We arise on Monday tired. We really want to just pull the covers over our head and wish it was Tuesday, one day closer to the weekend. We demand more weekend time. It doesn't happen. We need someone or something to blame, so we blame Monday.
Poor Monday. So defenseless and innocent. It's just doing what it's been trained to do. It's following Sunday and right before Tuesday. It didn't ask to be the bad guy. Monday is stuck. Monday unlike its counterparts is just unfortunate with it's place in line.
Monday: Ugh is it really Monday? I don't like Mondays
Tuesday: Yay, it's not Monday!
Wednesday: Happy Hump Day! Two more days until the weekend!
Thursday: WOOHOO one more day until Friday!
Friday: TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the weekend begin!
Saturday: I love Saturday!
Sunday: The best day of the week!
Monday: Ughhhhh GO AWAY Monday!
Monday can be magnificent if we changed our way of thinking a bit.
Monday: I love Monday! A fresh start with exciting challenges ahead of me!
Tuesday: Oh I miss Monday
Wednesday: Happy Hump Day!
Thursday: 4 more days until Monday
Friday: TGIF! Life is good.
Saturday: Enjoying the day, excited for Monday!
Sunday: Super Sunday! Almost Monday...woot!
Monday: I LOVE MONDAY!!!!
Memo to Monday: I tried to get people on your side. Not sure it will be successful. Wishful thinking. Oh Monday. We understand it's not your fault. We would detest Tuesday-Sunday too if they were in your spot!
You surely got the short end of the stick with your line-up. Don't take it personal, well try not to. If you think about it, there are actually some Mondays we appreciate. Labor and Memorial Day and any other day a holiday falls on a Monday. There you go, you're not that bad. Chin up Monday! I got your back. Kinda. Sorta. I won't do time for you. Just sayin'.

How about a shout-out to Monday? Loading...
Sunshine....LOVE this Hub! You've outdone yourself and made the likes of Andy Rooney & Erma Bombeck so proud of you! I just realized, it's MONDAY! Did you plan it this way? Well, thanks to you, My Monday is feeling pretty darned great!.......Hub, well-done!
Well sunshine, me personally have never really hated Mondays, no seriously it's the beginning of a great new week, and I agree it's always gotten a bad rap by people. I guess the only time when I didn't care too much for Mondays was when I worked (hehe), but I also remembered when my kids were little I couldn't wait for it to come around to send them off to school. Whatever the case may be Monday is not as bad as people make it out to be. Happiness is what you make it, whatever day of the week it is I guess...Im always happy :) great hub voted up as usual have a great awsome Monday!!!:) ge
I love this Hub, talk about timely!!!! Happy Monday!!
I stopped working the traditional work week of Monday - Friday in 2008 following the issues with Osteoarthritis. I worked as a Quality Control Manager and Orientation Director for a Marketing Research Firm, I began to dislike EVERY day they were all the same. When Friday came I was already thinking about how I did not want to go to work Monday!!!! Seriously, it was that bad, so I never enjoyed the weekends.I really missed the days when I looked forward to go to work everyday. The only times I did not want to go to work on Monday, before the last position was when I had gone party'n on Sunday night, of course I no longer do the party'n thing. I loved having a great Monday, it was sort of my guage as to how the rest of the week was going to go, I was also more likely to be at work a lot earlier on Monday, ready to rock n roll. Thanks again for the Hub, I enjoyed it.
Oh boy, hated Monday. Not really so bad and a lot better that Wednesday in my book. Funny Hub and right on time. Voted up and funny
I like your new thinking of magnificent Mondays!! I will try to enjoy Mondays from now on! :)
oh, and I like your acrostic too!
Great hub sunshine...people should really change their perception about Monday especially the working force whose first working day of the week is Monday. I was one of those people blaming "Monday Sickness" as the cause of tardiness. Now as a full time mom I am really thankful of Monday because that starts a five day routine of preparing my hubby and kids to office and school, respectively. Once their off, I have all the time in the world to surf the net and log on to my hubs! Isn't it great being alone even for just a couple of hours?
With the type of job I had,on 24hr call,I've got a healthy attitude(to everyday, its own reward)with Monday as in my life it was just as likely to be my day off as any other day...I'm retired now,so every day is a Friday, lol.;))
Hi Sunshine, I always struggle on a Monday, thinking on it there is a lot of Mondays in a year and that's a lot of struggling:-)
I for one have been inspired to make a bit more effort on a Monday!
Thanks for a great hub, I LOVED it!
What a positive hub! I'm still not loving Mondays during the school year but really every day has it's own blessings and curses. Saturdays are chores/grocery shopping days! Nicely done, thanks for the uplift.
I love the way you think Sunshine! And I also love that fpherj48 mentioned Erma Bombeck. Yes, I think Erma would be proud of you and your take on life. Definitely! Great job!
Sharyn
Great Hub Sunshine... Monday would be happy to read your page! Every day is wonderful, let us enjoy them!
This is the day that the Lord has made let Us rejoice and be Glad in it! Thanks for reminding us Sunshine to do this!
Thanks for the shout out.. I for one feel much better bless you :) Frank
Very cute and clever hub. When you retire everyone loves a Monday because it just doesn't matter anymore. I agree that Monday does get a bum rap. For most, its the start of a work week....Blah...
What an original outlook on Mondays! I could relate very much :-)
Thanks for sharing this, Sunshine!
Cloverleaf.
Actually, I didn't hate Mondays even before I retired, because I always had the "fresh start" attitude about the beginning of a new work week. However, retirement takes any sting there might be out of the day. As noted above by marellen, it simply doesn't matter any more.
Wonderful hub, but I still dread Mondays because I have a stressful job to go to. I'd rather stay home and write and read hubs all days. haha. you give it a good try, though, for us to like Monday. GREAT hub. I am voting it up and funny. I also like your profile. You are both "open-minded and opinionated." I love it. You have a great attitude! I hope to enjoy more of your hubs.
Please do! I could use it!
hahaha. You remembered!
I love every day of the week...including Mondays!
Sunshine, you do live up to your name by letting your light shine on Monday! As a retiree, every day is Saturday for me, but I have a special reason for liking Mondays. Monday is the day the weekend tourists are gone and the day we go to the beach to enjoy a peaceful day of surf, sun and fishing. :) Your hub brought a smile to my face - Thanks!
Great Hub! Thanks to share
Thanks, Sunshine, for brightening my morning! Happy Monday to you.
You are a ray of sunshine ,now I know why when I look to the east towards Orlando why it is always so sunny. :)
When you are working, every day is a monday. Good thing it is magnificent.
Ok, you've convinced me, I have been a Monday basher for too long, I am ashamed to admit it. I am one of those horrid people who if asked "How are you going?" on a monday my standard answer is, "Not bad I guess, for a Monday". But, no more!!! You have gone to the trouble of shaming us all and sticking up for poor, old, down trodden Monday, so, ok, I will give him a go. In my mind Monday is now Sunshine Day - hey how much better does that sound already.
One very awesome hub, thank you Sunshine, all my votes to you!!!
Thanks Sunshine I really needed this today, and I'm just seeing it today.
Just in from a fun weekend roadtrip with the krewe,it would be so easy to skip class today. But after reading your hub,I'm heading out of here for Financial Accounting I!
Thanks for sharing!
Being On Call And Shift Work,I Was Just As Likely To Work On The Weekend As Easily As On Monday...If I Were Off On A Monday Or Weekday I Wouldn't Have To Elbow My Way Around A Weekend Shopping(Or Other) Crowd.;)
Here's Cheers On A Monday Linda!;)
Great Hub.;)
Hi Sunshine625,
You are quite cheerful about Monday. I try not to think of Mondays as Mondays but look forward to events that will occur during the week or time to spend with my family on weekends.
Great hub though.
JT
Probably the only person on earth to not like weekends because of football or whatever ball season, which means screams and an occasional profanity, Monday may have become my favorite day!
What a great hub. A new day and week begins. Thank you Lord for letting me see the sun rise one more time.
I am one of those people who looks at Monday with dread, but your hub has made me reconsider.... Why do I dread Mondays? I work at home, and as such, I often work at least for a little while on Saturday and Sunday, so why am I still beating up on poor old Monday?
Memo to Monday;
Dear Monday,
When I was a child you represented the return to school and the end of freedom, and so I grew to resent you; When I was in my twenties, you represented the end of a weekend that always felt too short, and the beginning of a long week ahead, and I still resented you. Now that I am older, I am free to set my own schedule, and still, I confess, out of habit, I have continued to resent you, but our mutual friend has convinced me that I have been wrongfully critical of you, and I apologize, and promise to try to look upon you more favorably.
Thanks Sunshine for a fun Monday morning read! Voted up, useful, and awesome!
You have added a beautiful new aspect to the first working day. At least whoever read you this hub will change his/her opinion about Monday. your each and every words true. Very interesting. . . Great hub. I voted it up, awesome, interesting and beautiful.
Nice hub now I can look at Monday in a defferent way.
I found this Hub on a Monday, ALL nightbi could hear it calling to me....."earth to BT, jump up! Monday is calling!" on the phone? "no! In the day!"
So I came, I saw, I read, will leave!
(retired/unemployed NEVER have a Monday or a weekend! Everyday is the same, whatever we decide it to be!)
Great HUB! voted across and up!
A new start a new beginning is what we call for the Monday, though we desperately wait for another weekend.
Fun hub. I loved the cartoon. I remember, when I was a kid, I told myself something similar to what you’ve got here. On Tuesday nights I’d say: “Tomorrow’s Wednesday and then it’s Thursday and then it’s Friday, so that means it’s nearly the weekend." Can’t remember what nonsense, if any, I told myself on Mondays though!
I’m now in the same camp as many others here, since I work from home every day feels fine to me.
Well since monday is the start of a new week , it always is not a good day for me as in need to wake up again early after a relaxing Sunday . Anyways great hub again there by you !
What a great hub, Sunshine625! A real shout out for the underdog. I used to get a bit blue on Sunday nights but always rose to the occasion on Monday morning. Now in retirement, Monday just might be my very favorite day of the week.
Love your positive attitude and outlook. The world would be a better place if your outlook were contagious. Keep spreading that upbeat approach to life.
Voted up and awesome.
Whatever! Ugh. I've developed an immunity to monday morning cheerfulness.
Thanks anyway, sunshine625:)
Hhmm - it's pouring with rain (flood warning in effect) AND it's Monday. The song playing in my head is The Boomtown Rats, "I don't like Mondays". BUT, I shall try to reframe my day, taking your positive attitude to heart. Now I just have to convince the dog - she's not looking forward to a Monday afternoon walk in the downpour :-0
Monday again! I don't know how I would get through the day without reading your magnificent hub. It always gives me the boost I need!
Great idea for a hub, and well done!
Great hub Sunshine625 :)
put a smile on my face despite a MONDAY...lol
that is a unique and useful hub .And the Monday is really a blessing.thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts.
Just came across this hub...and it's a Monday. Thanks for making it a bit more enjoyable.
Loved this! Merry Monday and Happy week too :)
Mia
Sunshine don't know where you get your great ideas for your hubs from. Has it's Monday today I'm having a particularly good day, so let's here it for Magnificient Monday.
I desired to read this immensely, since being the inspiration for Miss Olive. Linking to this hub brought a greater charge of positive energy. Thank you for your time in bringing to us great enthusiasm and optimism.
Maybe this explains some of my weirdness. I work a 6-day week. Off - Thu, so my Mon is there TGIF. Talk about communication problems - LOL. And, there Mon is my Woo-hoo day. Now I know why they are angry with me on Mon's - LOL.
By Jove, I know the answers now and will make the appropriate changes. Thank you for having some fun with me Sunshine and definitely in your corner with optimistic Monday.
I love Mondays. I made monday my hubday and my fun day. I like to at least get my outline completed by noon. Then I go for an energy walk and plenty of water and back to the computer again. I start filling in sections of my outline before writing it in hub form. When that part is finfished, I reward myself with chocolate yogurt mixed with coolwhip and a scoop of organic granola.mYes - Mondays are just fine with me. :)
vocalcoach~
I'm a Boomtown Rats fan- "I don't like Mondays". But after reading this again, I might just become a fan.
Haha Monday is the root of all evil?! No way! Monday is my Saturday since I only work weekends :) And whereas most people say TGIF I say oh, no its Friday - I work tomorrow. Oh that means I get some peace and quiet YAY WORK!
"Monday, Monday..." I love the Bangles song, and I really like the sticker! Poor Monday, it really does get a bad rap.
Voted up and across and SHARED!! :-)
Mondays are ok after a whole pot of coffee.. LOL. This is adorabe! Voted up and shared.
Hey, Sunshine, I would love to use this hub on my next grammar/language hub about oxymorons. haha :-)
Sunshine,
Great Hub! I really enjoyed reading this.
I have never disliked Mondays or dreaded the approach of that day.
Today is Monday, March 5th. Enjoy the day, Sunshine!
I love the sentiments of this Hub. Being an annoyingly optimistic type, I already like Mondays most of the time. Yay! a fresh week of delightful possibities! But I don't always feel this way on a Sunday evening! Thanks for this, and thanks to Daisy for sharing and shining a spotlight on this spirit-lifting Hub. Up etc.
Not my favorite day, but I'm sure it thanks you for your kind words about it. Voting this Up and Interesting.
Poor Monday...never gets a break! Not sure why, but Tuesdays for me seem to be far worse than Monday's at the office. Loved your hub - voted up! :)
Sunshine,
Happy Monday!
It's all in one's attitude. I've never had anything against any particular day of the week.
I think, though, that some people don't like Mondays because it means that they have to go back to work after having two days off. If they didn't work, they wouldn't have money, and their two days off might be less enjoyable.
Hey Sunshine, at this moment in time, I love Mondays because I have a day off from work, so no Monday morning blues for me, and by the time I go in on a Tuesday, the week's virtually half over. Happy Monday to you!!! Voted up and shared.
nice hub! Your both Monday dialogs were a funny idea! Personally, I have nothing against Mondays. I don't like Tuesdays somehow, because I have dump subjects at school on this day. Voted Up and Funny!
Happy Monday Linda :) Your bright hub brought a smile and optimism to my day :)
I had a wonderful Monday today.
I should have read this in the morning.
Cheers

Great shout out for Monday...when you consider that you spend 1/7 of your life in Monday....you really need to learn to appreciate Monday. Monday offers lots of great things....17 weeks a year....Monday night offers football....also if you never start your work week with Monday ...the weekend will never come. Great hub...nice and funny....great cartoon with true facts....awesome job Sunshine 625. Voted up and funny and awesome.
