My Fan Letter To The Bee Gees
80
Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven
Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love
Letter includes their 40 Greatest Hits!
Dear Brothers Gibb; I've Got A Message To Get To You and what better way than with a personal fan letter! I have many Words of appreciation for The Bee Gees. While listening to your music, one never feels Alone. I feel the need to share my Emotions regarding how much I enjoy your songs with you.
I am Guilty of enjoying the disco days of the 70's and 80's and I tended to do much Jive Talkin'. I had a Secret Love, or more of a crush on Barry! What woman didn't!? I used to think If I Can't Have You I don't want nobody baby, but I moved on One day. Luckily! It didn't take me long to figure out How Can You Mend A Broken Heart! My friends and family were sure relieved! It was a whole new World for me!
I Started A Joke one day while I was listening to my Saturday Night Fever album and I announced I was going to purchase some Islands In The Stream! Since I was a broke teen my joke didn't work out too well. So, I told my friends...You Win Again.
The news of your brother Andy passing away in 1988 was a Heartbreaker. You brothers must have had many Lonely Nights missing him, and I'm sure you still do. To Love Somebody one day and the next day they are gone is a Tragedy. Another sad time for you was when you lost Robin in 2003. All four brothers Loved So Right and now there were two. Times such as these make us question our own Immortality. Would you want to always be Stayin' Alive? If the aging process was halted I'd consider it, but if that deal falls through I would pass.
OK, I was just Saved By The Bell...I have to take a phone call I'll be back!
Whether you were performing in the United Kingdom where you were born, Australia where you were raised or in Massachusetts your songs always climbed the charts! Do you often travel back to Queensland, Australia for a Holiday? I'd like to travel down under one day soon. We could meet up and visit with my friend Glyn in Tasmania...she would Love You Inside Out!
Saturday Night Fever is the 4th highest-selling album worldwide! You Should Be Dancing everyday with that incredible milestone! The disco era was drawing to an end until the Bee Gees stepped in and said This Is Where I Came in with your hits and prolonged the disco days! Not even a New York Mining Disaster could stop you!
I predict you celebrated with many fun Nights On Broadway with your gals who were More Than A Woman to you! You also experienced many Night Fevers by showing How Deep Is Your Love. I always tell my friends Don't Forget To Remember the Bee Gees. If they should ever need a reminder they could Run To Me! Except for the First Of May because that's when I celebrate Tim McGraw's birthday. I enjoy a wide variety of music. My Fanny Be Tender writing all the time! There are times when I just have to get up and dance! I have some moves called Spicks and Specks which also happens to be your first single released in the UK in 1966! On a final note I'd like to emphasize that listening to the Bee Gees music one could never get Too Much Heaven.
Love Me and I love you Barry, Robin (RIP), and Maurice (RIP).
P.S. This letter includes 39 out of their 40 Greatest Hits songs. I tried but I couldn't seem to fit one song in my letter ... For Whom The Bell Tolls ... I am accepting ideas in the comment section below. Thank you!

The Bell Tolls for thee!
Hey Sunshine! I loved the Bee Gees growing up. Most notably the Saturday Night Fever songs. Then it started all over again after I saw the Barry Gibb Talk Show SNL skit. That never ceases to crack me up. Thanks for bringing up good memories!
Oh how I loved and still do love the Bee Gee's..Great, wonderful hub sunshine..creative in everyway..They would be proud..My sad song when I wanted to have a good cry I would play.."I started a joke" I would have a good pity party..lol
Thanks for sharing my friend,
Sunnie
What a wonderful sharade of words from their music Linda. I lived their time too. So sad to hear from Little Andy passing away so young back in 88. Terrific Letter my friend. Voted up!:)
LORD
Oh how I loved The Bee Gees, i remember having such a crush om Andy and how sad it was when he died, my first album I ever bought was Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. I would play it over & over. Thanks sunshine to this awesome hun I loved it :) ge
When I was very young I remember my babysitter's room being plastered with pictures of these fellows.. I am a big fan of "Staying Alive". Well done and GROOOOVY!
I lost count of how many times I watched "Saturday Night Fever." I already liked the Bee Gees, but because of that movie, I fell in love with them. I also realized John Travolta was destined to be a huge star. Who would have guessed "Vinnie Barbarino" would go so far!?
It's so sad that 2 Gibb brothers are no longer with us, but when they sing their beautiful harmony in the Heavens, and we can hear the church bell chime.... We know FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS. OUTSTANDING HUB!!
Bee Gees, they are indeed great artists of all time. i love their songs. Thanks for this hub for them. 1 up! =)
I love love love the Bee Gee's. They take me back to many many memories. Fun times! I wore the movie soundtrack record DOWN!!! Great videos too. You never cease to impress Sunshine. I'm really enjoying your celebrity hubs.
Voted up and across!!!
Cute how you incorporated the songs into your letter. It sure gave them a new meaning, huh? My favorite of the Gibb brothers was Andy...the youngest. But I love their songs! Great hub!! Thanks for sharing it. Voted up and awesome, of course. : )
I have to admit I do not really know the Bee Gees so this was an interesting letter for me to read! I know I've heard of many of their songs, but I don't know them well. Still I love how you do this. Putting the songs into a letter that actually says something is not an easy process and you do it very well. I find this very interesting and yet informative for somebody who does not know them very well. I liked reading all of the titles and seeing their top songs put into print like this. Very useful and interesting!
Clever. I used to do this in grade school with our spelling words, the teacher always gave me an "A".
LOVE them!! Great Hub SS!
What an awesome hub! The Bee Gees are a national treasure!! Where the heck would we be if not for them, to make us want to be dancing....or bring us out of the doldrums when life is going down the toilet. Not onlt with their own hits...too many to even comprehend, but also as writers having the best singers in the world line up to sing their songs.
I DO have a suggestion For Whom the Bell Tolls, but it makes me sad to think that it may be for yet another one of the famous Bee Gee's. Arh....they don't make them like those guys anymore !
Well you had my vote as soon as I saw the title. Lol
What a fabulous letter Sunshine. I love the way you have incorated their songs into the letter.
These guys are just TOPS.
The passing of Andy was such a devastaion and he will never be forgotten as part of the Bee gees.
I think the mold was broken after these guys were made.
Great hub I enjoyed reading this so nuch
I loved the BeeGees, Sunshine, and enjoyed your clever fan letter. I guess you could say that Andy and Robin Gibb learned firsthand 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' when they passed away much too soon.
I love the BeeGees and have a hub about them too.
I do love the Bee Gees:). I used to cart their cassette around when I babysat - all th little kids liked to sing with them too. You know how hilarious it is to see a little 3 year old boy sing "More Than A Woman?". Lol. So cute:). Now you know why I was a popular babysitter - I was into educational skills! Haha!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane:). I couldn't think of anything to use with "For Whom The Bell Tolls" either! Oh and thank you so much for the links :-).
fantastic, sunshine. The BeeGees often get mocked because of their association with dicso, but they had amazing harmonies and were good musicians. Also, you could have used For Whom The Bell Tolls for either of the brothers' deaths, IMHO.
UP and shared
Hard not to think about John Travolta when reading this hub. Lots of interesting information in the hub. Sorry to read that Robin is very ill. Thanks for the trip back in time.
sad, but such is life i suppose
How Deep is Your Love for the Bee Gees? I'd say pretty deep. Great hub. I love their music when I get into a disco kind of mood. Well written!
Cute, Linda! Nice to see you included those great Bee Gee hits of the sixties. These guys were one of those guilty pleasure groups for me during their disco days. Whether you liked them or not they was no denying their staying power. Not many acts have charted songs in 4 different decades!
Yes, very sad. I was such a big Bee Gees fan, now they are no more :(
So Robin just passed away, too, I heard. So sad. Have they all died young? Barry is only 65? Dang. What sadness in that family. I loved them from way back as a young kid. Thanks for sharing this. Sharing with my friends on Facebook.
I feel so much for his mother...
Great hub Sunshine625.
I can't believe it. What struck me the most is that both Robin and Donna Summers both passed away just days from each other - two of Disco's great are gone.
Take care. Voted up and away!
John
Bee Gees are one of my favorites group band. I knew slmost all of their songs. It saddened me that Robin just passed away. May he rest in peace..
I LOVE THIS HUB. THANK YOU LINDA. IM SAD TODAY. WE HAVE LOST ANOTHER BRILLIANT TALENTED MAN...
