Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Barbie Dolls by Mattel

Your opinion counts!
Do you think these barbie dolls resemble Tim and Faith?
See results without votingDear Mattel:
As a longtime fan of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill I feel the need to vent my disappointment regarding the new barbie dolls created for them. They were designed in honor of Tim and Faith's 15th wedding anniversary this upcoming October. Mattel, I demand a redo! And then another redo! The concept was a good one but the finished product was not. It seems like it was rushed or possibly since this is country music, the creator thought the fans would be too drunk to notice the major design flaws. Well...I beg to differ. Heck, even the Spice Girl dolls from back in the 90's looked more realistic!!!
These dolls that are going to retail for $69.99 have ZERO resemblence to Faith or Tim. According to various websites Tim and Faith supplied the details for the clothing. Did they by any chance supply you with a photo of their likeness? Has the designer of the dolls ever seen a photo of The McGraw's? I'm thinking that answer might be a NO. I find it hard to believe that the prototype took two months to complete. Very hard to believe.
Faith's barbie is just a barbie. You can't take a doll that retails for $4.99 slap a gown on it that Faith designed and name it Faith Hill! That's just unacceptable! Faith isn't skinny as a stick! The only time Faith had chipmunk cheeks is when she was pregnant...is she pregnant now? I don't think so. Even Madame Tussauds could have created more life-like wax figures of these two beautiful people. I could have created more real looking dolls without a photo just from memory!
Tim's doll?!?! Oh my. When did Tim get reddish hair? You CAN NOT slap a cowboy hat on a doll and call him Tim McGraw! No! No! No! Oh my. Even the Ken doll is more buff then the Tim barbie. What about the sunglowed tan that Tim frequently sports? This doll looks like it's never even heard of sunning or a tanning bed. Heads up for you....Tim is 44 years old NOT a youngen like the hideous doll. I ask you again, did the creator have a photo to work from? I didn't think so!
As a fan I truly hope that Tim and Faith reconsider placing these dolls on the market. I think of their three little girls Gracie, Maggie and Audrey playing with these dolls. Showing them off to their friends saying, "Look at my mommy and daddy" and their friends saying "That's not your mommy and daddy!" Can you imagine the awkwardness and weird glances these children will have to deal with...why is that? Because these dolls LOOK NOTHING like their MOMMY AND DADDY! Those children could be scarred for life!
Mattel I will give you a C+ for effort but your final grade is an F for FAIL because this is one McGraw/Hill fan who will not be purchasing these dolls unless they are completely revamped and started from scratch. The clothes are acceptable due to the special occasion even though I prefer them in jeans. This gorgeous couple deserves much better then just throwing a dress and cowboy hat on some random barbie dolls. I suggest that Tim and Faith demand a REDO!
On a lighter note I'm thrilled for Tim and Faith and their upcoming wedding anniversary! I wish them many more years of wedded bliss. Cheers to the McGraws! Boooo to Mattel!
P.S. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood poking fun at the dolls at the CMA's on 11/9/11 was a smash hit! Don't say I didn't warn you Mattel about the freakishly looking dolls you created. How's that prototype going? :)
Enjoy!!
This is the REAL DEAL ... Got it now Mattel?

I am not a country music fan, but even I know that this doesn't resemble Tim & Faith! Nice try Mattel!!
Boy, you were nice giving them a C+. Those dolls look awful. They should scratch the whole idea...
That's fun that they are getting dolls! But that does not look ANYTHING like Tim!! lol
OK,Mattel....Here's what you do: Save the outfits for the NEW Faith & Tim dolls which you must Re-do. (This time, they need to LOOK LIKE the Mcgraws.) Dress the first batch of dolls in some casual preppy outfits and market them as "Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillipe." (you can add a miniature copy of their divorce papers in the box.) THAT'S who these dolls look like. Snap out of it, Mattel. Sunshine..Good girl! You fight for the cause!! up& awesome
By JOBE....I think you've got something there!! That is highly possible. The second I looked at these dolls, I saw Reese & Ryan....I doubt Mattel would ADMIT it. The people who should call them on this are Tim & Faith....and Reese and Ryan!!! Hey, Mattel, what gives, here?
cute post, liked the animated images
You're right Linda, these dolls are of poor quality and presume their sales will be poor also.;)
Sunshine, PLEASE tell me that you mailed that letter! LOL

This was so beautiful dolls (pretty and handsome as well). I'll show this to my niece. I believe she'll love this. Thank you very much for share with us. Well done, my friend. Vote up and useful!

Well I thought I had a great gift for you for Christmas, I will make an effort to cancel my order. I think you might be somewhat picky....there really is not much difference between red hair and black hair....plus how often does Barbie get a chance to wear a Faith Hill dress....I certainly hope the Will Smith and Jada Pinkett dolls I got for you get here before they break up.
Actually...you are 100% correct these dolls are a joke...Mattel should ashamed of themselves for producing such a weak product.
As for your hub....your passion for your subjects always comes through the lines...which makes your hubs so enjoyable to read.
Oh, Sunshine, where's your sense of the Great American Tacky? Those dolls do look awful, but yours is the first to include a (ewwwww) photograph of them thar dolls. Remix! Remix! But when I first retired, I wheeled and dealed Harley Barbies and their matching motorcycles on eBay. Can't complain about the $$$ I made. Great Hub with that delicious sense of humor of yours. Smilin' at us and stickin' it to us at the same time. Voted up and whatever I can hit with my key fingers!!!
I think the dolls are cute, but they should redo them, they could look a lot better.I don't see any red hair on him, though.the hair is black. Tim and Faith think they look good. is something wrong with their eyesight? they don't look like they do this year, and they should
Sunshine, this is great! the Tim McGraw is better than the Faith Hill, but that's not saying much. Faith looks exactly like Barbie just with bigger eyes! Are they actually selling very well? Love your hub! Hope it reaches the right person. I'm a Barbie fan, and this couple definitely doesn't do the Barbie line justice. Voted up and awesome!
Ha Ha Sunshine,
You are such a great letter writer! :) They really need to be placed in the U.S. mail! YOU have SO much to say that needs to be heard . . .
Sharyn
TIMS GOT A 10 GALLON HAT ON A HALF-PINT HEAD. FAITH IS EVEN AN UGLY BARBIE!WHAT A SHAME.
The dolls work for me. Heck--they gotta keep the price down. They don't want to end up like the American girl where you gotta be a millionare to collect this stuff. I love Faith and Mc Graw and made a ton of money over the years playing their songs at weedings in my DJ act. You will enjoy a HUB on "Paint me a promise and a hundred bucks" that will touch your heart. It tells about one of my DJ jobs... and it is short!
Sunshine - I haven't seen the REAL dolls but the pictures do NOT look a think like them. You're so funny! You can't just put a hat on him and call him Tim McGraw!
The Justin doll doesn't look exceptional either - but the darn thing sings! Lol
First of all I gotta say I love the pic with Tim & Faith by the jeep sexy!!! Anyway I thought the awards show was hilarious last night and they really do need to make those dolls over to look more like them especially for that much money. Great hub sunshine:) ge

I am not a country music fan and I don't see the resemblence either. I agree that you are supposed to get what you pay for. i.e. if these were only $5.00 each, I don't think you would mind the non-resemblence so much.
